The interior of the Limburg casino has been fitted with an atmospheric multicolored application as well. The implementation was taken care of by “neon specialist” 3Tac based in Oss. “We are at our best in technically demanding projects with a short time of delivery”, director René Huizenga says.
3Tac has been operating on the market for around 13 years under the current company name. During this period the enterprise has specialized in high quality light techniques and the production and installation of neon lighting. 3Tac provides the neon lighting for Jumbo supermarkets, Tango gas stations and Expert stores among others. The expertise of the company goes a lot further than placing “normal” neon applications in stores and companies. The company is increasingly aiming itself on high quality applications in the field of light and technique. 3Tac excels in project where specialized craftsmanship is needed. For example, 3Tac provides the neon lighting in television programs and theaters of Joop van den Ende. “Van den Ende is a big customer of ours”, René Huizenga agrees. “Because we keep everything in house – design, producti0n and installation of the lighting – we can implement the most complicated assignments in a short time. Our customers value this highly.”
Constant quality
Its own glass works forms an important part of 3Tac. The production space is further provided with a fully automatic pump system, enabling the company to produce day and night. “We have a capacity of 1 km a week”, Huizenga says proudly. “Thanks to the pump system we are able to guarantee a constant high quality of the lighting tube. We give a guarantee of 5 years on all our products.”

In the interior of Holland Casino in Valkenburg multicolored neon lighting has been implemented by 3Tac. This allows the interior to be illuminated in the most diverse colors. Thanks to the enormous production capacity of the glass works 3Tac is able to deliver very fast. This competence of the company came in hand for the assignment of implementing the multicolored neon lights in Holland Casino in Valkenburg. 3Tac only had 4 weeks time to complete the project. “We were commissioned by Arn. Meijs Architects in Maastricht”, Huizenga says. “This architect firm has worked with us before and knows that we are able to perform the toughest projects in a short timespan.”3Tac installed a multicolored neon façade among other things. The interior lighting in the new part of the casino was also produced and installed by the company. Director Huizenga explains why: “We are also able to deliver LED-lighting – for example we have implemented LED in the theater of Joop van den Ende in Stuttgart – but in Valkenburg it made more sense to use neon: neon is cheaper and the light output is a lot higher then with LED.”
The multicolored neon lighting in Holland Casino in Valkenburg works through an automated system. The software for the control was developed by 3Tac as well. “In the field of neon we are truly an all-rounder”, says Huizenga.
Quality
The result in Holland Casino in Valkenburg is impressive. “The delivery of quality is very important in our field”, says Adrie van Leijden, project coordinator at the project in Valkbenburg. “That is why we do not only pay a lot of attention to the functionality of our products, but to lifespan as well. It is not intended, once multicolored neon lighting has been installed, to replace part of the lighting within a short time. The 3Tac employee refers to some other projects that the company has recently done: “For example we have installed a lighting wall in a pool in Amersfoort. It was necessary to seal this lighting wall hermetically, due to the damp atmosphere in the pool. With such an application the life span of the neon tubes is essential of course.” Not only the quality of the products is very important to 3Tac, the quality of its own organization and the company processes have a high priority with the company. After all, 3Tac recently received the ISO 9001:2000 and VCA*-certificate.
The renowned German institute RWTÜV did the certification. “We have been working for years under the most stringent quality requirements”, Huizenga says. “Still we decided to get formally certified. The obtained certificates give us even more reputation on the market. This is very important.” Huizenga hopes to put 3Tac not only in the spotlight in the Netherlands, but in Germany as well. “Germany is being increasingly interesting for us”, agrees the 3Tac director. “With the RWTÜV-certification we proof ourselves to be very professional on the German market as well.”
